The GSA's current tag team champions are also one of the celebrated federation's biggest night terrors! Deadboy Daemian is a dark magi, demon summoner, and necromancer from Down Under (Australia; not Hell). Brax is a 'Wrath' demon with a contradictory fondness for humanity and a desire to challenge the most powerful humans on Earth in deadly combat. Together, The Infernals are a nightmarish tag team towards those misfortunate enough to get into the ring with them, either solo or as a one-two combo of unholy terror!
Daemian Gravesend, AKA Lachlan Jago, was born in the outback town of Alice Springs. He did not know his father, and his mother was an abusive alcoholic. Despite attempts from well-meaning aunties to put Lachlan on the straight and narrow, he had frequent outbursts as a child, frequently scrapping with other boys. His bad behavior and notoriety earned him a visit from a roving gang of 'junkers', who beat up a young Lachlan and left him for dead.
The incident activated his powers and transported him to Gehenna, the realm of demons. Dying in the wilderness, he was rescued by Brax, a 'Wrath' demon exiled from his clan for challenging and losing to his leader. Brax found young Lachlan far too scrawny to eat, and after 'looking into the black pit of his soul' discovered a kindred spirit. He nursed Lachlan back to health by feeding him his blood. Lachlan, wanting to return to Earth to enact revenge, was offered a 'soul pact' with Brax, binding their spirits together in exchange for potent magick ability.
Lachlan returned to Earth, and the scrappers who accosted him were never seen again.
Inheriting his family's 'curse', and without anybody to guide his powers, Lachlan dipped into alcoholism while working part time as a bouncer at a rough joint. Uncle Daniel, a local Elder who ran a station commune outside of town, invited Lachlan to come help out on his ranch. Lachlan took the offer. Uncle Daniel and his extended family were the only ones to ever show him kindness, and were even tolerant of Brax's demonic nature.
Though Lachlan enjoyed a brief period of stability at the station, it wasn't long before his darker nature took hold. During a clash with government officials threatening to clear trees sacred to Uncle Daniel's people, Lachlan used his powers to dismantle the machinery and injured the construction workers in the process. This sent him to the notorious Crowley Prison, a maximum security facility for dark magi. During his stay there, Lachlan participated in many illegal caged battles, soon earning him the name 'Deadboy' for his ability to injure extreme damage and pain, including loss of limbs (which he could re-attach). News of his ferocity reached the founder of the small spellbreaking federation SxS (Southern Cross Spellbreaking). Its leader, the sinister Ice Cream Man, used his lawyer son's influence to free Lachlan on a discovered technicality.
Fresh from prison, Lachlan was eager to sink his teeth into spellbreaking. Uncle Daniel gave Lachland his reluctant approval (mostly because it served as an outlet for Lachlan's untempered sadism and hunger for carnage). Lachlan moved to the Sydney suburb of Marickville to train. He named himself partially after his prison nickname, as well as his favorite attraction, Horror Land's Gravesend Manor (which touts itself as the largest haunted house attraction in the world).
Though spellbreaking is not as popular in Neo Australia as it is in the rest of the world, Lachlan became SxS's rising star, helping to popularize the sport while taking it in a unique direction. Australian's Spellbreaking style lends itself to a dark mix of death match style horror (for adults) and more comedic, high flying, macabre shenanigans for the younger crowd . Deadboy was able to cater to both audiences, earning him the approval of younger fans (and the stern disapproval of their parents).
Deadboy even convinced The Ice Cream Man to allow the eager Brax to fight as his tag partner, an even bigger draw for blood-thirsty fans keen on seeing a demon in-ring. Deadboy Daemain and Brax, AKA 'The Infernals' became local celebrities. An international news story covering their strange exploits reached the desk of Colt the Bolt, who knew he had to offer them a contract to the GSA...something he would soon regret!
While Brax was on leave fighting a clan war back in Gehenna, Daemian rose to the top of the GSA, becoming its champion for a year and half, only to be defeated by rival (and rumored lover) White Tiger. Instead of losing gracefully, Daemian (hellion that he is) took revenge by transforming most of the GSA into his (temporary) zombie servants. That is, 'til Colt and White Tiger stopped him. A softy at heart, Colt hesitated to kick him out permanently. Along with Icewolf, Deadboy was sent him on an 'extended tour' of various other leagues.
Now, Daemian is back to finish what he started, along with his tag buddy and best friend Brax!
Deadboy loves nothing more than grossing out and terrorizing his opponents, and he has an especial fixation (or fetish) for giving especially pretty opponent's the dreaded 'crimson mask'—i.e. causing a laceration to their head that makes them bleed all over their face. His 'Mortis' glyph allows him the ability to survive deadly attacks, including the loss of his own limbs, something that has earned him the name alternative nickname 'Deathmatch' Daemian for his love of exceptionally violent, gory, and bloody skirmishes. In battle, he uses this power, as well as his conjured thorns of darkness, to slice and skewers his unfortunate challengers.
As an especially humiliating finish, Deadboy will often force his opponent's to drink his 'dark nectar', a black elixir that Deadboy secretes from his mouth. This disgusting enchantment renders his victims mindless husks to be used 'servants'. It can even awaken the darkness inside them, pitting them against their own tag partners.
Both Daemian and Brax have employed creative use of finishers during their career ascents. Deadboy's 'Death from Above' (which he usually likes to execute after climbing up the side of a cage) is a death-diving kick to the head that's (rumored) to have knocked an opponent's block off! Even more sadistic is his Never Ending Nightmare, a cold, stinging, magicaklly enhanced sleeper hold that puts his opponents into a nightmare of their greatest fears.
Brax, preferring utility and might to flashy techniques, finishes off his victims with a 'Hell Driver' from the top ropes, ruining both spines, necks, and entire rings. As a combo, the Infernal's 'Ninth Circle' is a move so graphic, deadly, disgusting, and seldom employed, that the governing body of Neo South Wales refuses for it to even be described in writing. It is said, however, that Colt has banned The Infernals from ever using it in a match.
But when has a demon ever heeded the warnings of a mortal? >:)
